Fair Haven shares the love of Christ by providing gracious hospitality to seriously-ill patients and their families traveling to Indianapolis for advanced medical care.
1. We are Christ-centered.
As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, the ministry of Fair Haven is a reflection of the sacrificial love of Christ, demonstrated at the cross.
His resurrection is the source of the hope that we share – a hope that transforms illness, loss, and brokenness, and brings healing and redemption.
2. We are called into a sacred window.
We are divinely called to serve people during a critical time of illness as they travel far from home for medical treatment. This is truly “holy ground,” a sacred window in people’s lives.
We serve all people with respect, humility, sensitivity, and sincere love, regardless of race, religion, creed, citizenship, physical disability, gender, color, ethnic heritage, veteran status, or sexual orientation.
3. We provide a shelter in the storm.
We provide lodging that lifts a burden for families, allowing them to stay together and focus on healing and on supporting one another.
Our lodging is convenient, clean, comforting, and fully-equipped with the practical things needed for an extended stay away from home. It is truly a gift from God, an expression of His presence and provision during the storms of our lives.
4. We serve as a ministry.
We serve as a bridge for the local Christian community to minister to people traveling to our city during a time of illness. We are God’s vessel to share His grace, love, and power in ministry to those we serve, and to each and every person involved in the organization.
We deeply value all of these relationships, including those with patients and their families, as well as those with our donors, volunteers, partner hospitals, event patrons, vendors, board, and staff. We shine the light of Christ in our community.
5. We are committed to prayer.
We are committed to lifting up the ministry to God in regular and earnest prayer. We pray for all of the patients and families we serve, for our donors and volunteers, and for every aspect of the ministry.
We regard prayer as powerful and effective. Through prayer, we believe that God will accomplish the miraculous, external work of transforming hearts and lives.
